Ingredients
  • 4 medium green plantains, sliced into thin strips like fries*
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 dill pickles, sliced
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 batch cuban seasoning
  • 1⁄2 lb sugar free ham, shaved (225gms)
  • Yellow mustard
  • 4 cups spinach
  • Salt
  • Cuban Seasoning:
  • 11⁄2 tsp garlic powder (buy from iherb or amazon)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (buy from iherb or amazon)
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt (buy on iherb or amazon)
  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit (220C)
  2. Peel and slice plantains into very thin strips. Place on a baking sheet,
  3. drizzle with oil and season with salt. Toss to coat and arrange fries in a single layer. Place in oven to bake for 18-20 minutes, removing halfway to turn. Remove fries from oven just as they begin to get crispy.
  4. While fries are cooking, slice pickles and place ground pork in a bowl and add in cuban burger seasoning. Mix well with your hands to incorporate seasoning mix. Form pork into 4 burger patties, set aside.
  5. After turning the fries, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place burger patties in skillet to cook, about 5 minutes per side. Add ham to pan to warm with burgers after you flip them.
  6. Remove fries from oven. Place burgers on a bed
